Natural Water Features Area at Innovation Hills Park - This project consist of pond excavation, landscaping, bioswales, pathways around the ponds, water wall creation and sundial mound. This was a design build project working closely with the city representatives and the city engineers. This was a unique project with a lot of creativity although staying very in touch with the natural settings nature had to offer in the area. This project received the Michigan Concrete Association Award of Excellence for the concrete work on this project.
Sterling Relief Drain - Drain Day Lighting - This project was a complete design build method to provide improved water quality treatment of the flows into the drain by forcing water out of the underdrain (day-lighting) for water quality treatment on the surface. Project limits Sterling Relief Drain corridor from Van Dyke Road to the outlet to Red Run. Lateral inlets were used to direct the drain bottom thus providing full treatment for their service area. Day-lighting approximately 300 lineal feet of the underdrain at the outlets and construction a sediment basin to capture and remote pollutants from the base flow. Implemented a three tier landscape transformational plan.
Road Right of Way Improvements at Sterling Heights - Create a beautification to Sterling Relief Pocket Park and Dodge Road Park by providing and installing concrete slabs and benches, trees, trash receptacles at both locations. Also, the demo/removal of the existing fence and gate, replacing it with a new decorative fence/gate combination.
Th project consisted of reconstruction of the Gloede Drain, excavation and construction of the stream banks, pond and pools in numerous locations along the drain. Some of the other features included toe-wood structures, cobble stone riffles, log vanes, rock cutoffs, turtle mounds, clearing and grubbing. The grading on the project was done with GPS to provide precise grade control and location of special items of work. Our team worked with the owner and landscape architect to adjust the grading in the field to meet requirements of the existing sire to make the project aesthetically pleasing and drain properly. There were a large amount of plantings completed on this project where plantings were adjusted to meet the vision and needs of the site. The site was seeded with multiple seed mixes depending on the area.
This project consisted of complete site construction of sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main, mass balancing, roadway, berms, bike path and pond. This project site has a large pond that is also a part of the Gloede Drain. The owner and TRP worked together to install additional berms and create an aesthetically pleasing environment.
